» Overview
Badrinath is the most famed among four pilgrimage sites of India. It lies between two Mountains Nar and Narayan. It is also known as Chota Char Dham. It is the only shrine which is the part of both Chota Char Dham and India Char Dham. It is also one of the 108 Divya desams dedicated to Vishnu, who is worshipped as Badrinath – a holy shrine of Vaishnavites. It is located in the Garhwal Himalayan ranges along the banks of river Alaknanda near India – Tibet border at an altitude of 3133 m. Millions of tourists come every year to this sacred Badrinath town to seek blessings and to get a glimpse of the famous temple of Shri Badrinath.
Opening and Closing of Shri Badrinath
Shri Badrinath temple is opened for six months in a year from April – May to October – November. During extreme weather, it will remain closed for the next six months.
The temple of Shri Badrinathji has been opened in May. The gates of the temple were opened at 4:15 am. This year Badrinath temple has been opened on 10th May 2019.
Badrinath temple generally closes on the day of Bhaidooj. The closing dates of Shri Badrinath temple have not been disclosed yet.

- For Pilgrims: Swargarohini, Tapt Kund, Laxmi Van, Vasu Dhara Fall, Bheem put, Satopanth, Panch Shila, Narad Kund, Brahma Kund.

Pandukeshwar, Govndghat, Bhim Pul, Valley of flowers, Hemkund Sahib and Lokpal Temple, Joshimath, Auli, Adi Badri are also some beautiful attractions near Badrinath.
»Weather In Badrinath
In summer, during May – June, the climate is very pleasant and the temperature is about 18 deg C. Summer is ideal for a visit to Badrinath.
In monsoon, from July to mid- September, the temperature drops down to 15 deg C and there will be scanty rains. Sometimes there will be landslides, which causes difficulty in traveling.
In winters, from November to April, the temperature will be minimum 5 deg C or can touch 0 deg C. There is highly snow falling during winters. Due to this reason, Badrinath is closed for six months.
