Auli, also known as Auli Bugyal is located at an astonishing height of 2800m above sea level in Garhwal Himalayas. Auli is the beautiful ski destination less popular than Manali, Shimla, and Rohtang. Auli was marketed as a tourist destination, after the creation of the new state in Uttarakhand. Auli is known for its panoramic view and snowcapped slopes over everywhere. The slopes of Auli is the ground for the training of Indo- Tibetan Border police force and Paramilitary forces. One can witness the stunning view of Nanda Devi Peak, Mana Peak and Kamet Peak from Auli. Auli has everything for which a tourist dreamed of. Slopes of Auli are covered with deodar and oak trees which help skiers by reducing the velocity of the chilling wind.  For bike lovers, Auli offers some mountain biking trails in summers.

Skiing in Auli attracts a large number of tourists. As Auli is the venue of skiing festivals from 1986. Now it also hosts National championships, organized by winter games Federation of India, from March to June. Gurso Bugyal, Kwani Bugyal, Chattarkund, Narasimha Mandir, Shankaracharya Tapstali of Joshimath, Rudraprayag, Hot spring point, Nandaprayag, Pandukeshwar, Badrinath Temple are the most visited attractions in Auli. The majestic view of Nanda Devi, Nanga Parbat, Dungagiri, Beethartoli, Gori Parbat are also been offered by Auli.

In the winter season, from November to February, the whole is covered up with white snow. Also, that snowfall condition is ideal for skiing. The temperature is below zero degrees, so one has to be prepared for winter clothes and stuff to keep themselves warm. The best time to visit Auli is in summers, March to July. The best for trekking in Auli is April to June and for skiing, it is November to March. The temperature lies between 10 deg C to 20 Deg C. This time is perfect for mesmerizing the town, Auli.
